With Other Men

'With Other Men' is anthropological study of love, focusing specifically on interpersonal relationships between same-sex attracted men in New Orleans. This dissertation research delves into the ways online dating and computer-mediated communications play a role in how same-sex attracted men connect, relate, understand, and love each other. The project aims to illuminate the love stories that often go untold.

Below, you'll find three distinct surveys designed to capture a range of experiences. Whether you divulge a lot or a little, your contribution is invaluable. This research will be conducted from September 2023 through August 2024.

  • Demographic Survey: This 12-question survey is designed to provide a snapshot of the diverse group of participants engaged in this study.

  • Relationship and Technology Survey: In the digital age, communication between partners is evolving. This 12-question survey focuses on the interplay between technology and communication between partners.

  • Love Narratives Survey: This 10-question survey mixes multiple-choice and short-answer formats, and serves as a space for you to reflect and share your unique experience and love stories.
